Nanette Hodge also known as Nanette Marie is native of Columbus, OH. What makes this dynamic artist stand above the rest? Could it be her years of experience of writing commercials; serving as host to an internet talk radio show or using her VOICE to narrate many of Columbus air commercials and productions? Her credits do not stop there. Nanette has directed "The Remaining" performed at Shinsai Theatre, at the Wild Goose Creative, Columbus, OH. Directed "Theatre Meets the Church" performed at Confluence Park, Columbus, OH.
In 2011 she was writer of Short Film in the 48 hour Film Festival, Columbus, OH. What an honor! Nanette Marie wrote, directed, cast, produced, managed, financed and oversaw operations and much more. Mamas' Drama a true story will inspire self-introspection and discussion about one’s relationships with self and others. This production is so good it was chosen and performed at the DC Black Theatre Festival in June, 2012 in Washington, DC.
Let's review the synopsis: "Mamas’ Drama delves into the lives and experiences of four generations as they move through the secrets and lies that create the “mama’s baby daddy’s maybe” condition, which occurs when the father’s identity is withheld or uncertain. Mamas’ Drama explores this condition; which, although prevalent, is rarely discussed. Journey through time (1931-2004) as this provocative and highly-entertaining play follows main character, Josephine, from the innocent age of 11 to the seasoned age of 83. Mamas’ Drama focuses on the indiscretions of the females, and explores the impact their hidden truths have on those directly and indirectly affected by them. This healing play embodies redemption and love and cries out the stories that most people only whisper about”.
